Jenna: Pregnancy Fun

August 26th, 2008 · No Comments

I am now 25 weeks pregnant.  Last week Greg took a picture of me so that I could be included in my very important work newsletter.  So just in case you’ve been wondering what a 24 week pregnant Jenna looks like, it’s something like this:

Jenna: Greg’s Birthday

August 26th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Greg had a fantastic 26th birthday!  Thanks to everyone who helped him celebrate!

On Saturday the 16th there was a wonderful family gathering at Grace and Jerry’s.  We ate a lot of delicious food, opened fantastic presents, and had awesome desserts including Greg’s beloved banana pudding.  The surprise of the century was Greg receiving both Wii Fit and Wii Mario Kart.  We have been looking for those games since the start of spring, and Alison saved the summer by hunting them down.  Greg has been doing his Wii Fit exercises very regularly, and has mastered yoga.

On Sunday the 17th we went to the Crawford’s for a late lunch.  Greg got a very fun trunk, maybe more for Baby Acorn than Greg, as well as some money and gift certificates.

On Monday I showered Greg with presents because we are naughty and often cannot wait until the actual birthday to celebrate.  I got him a vacuum he wanted very much that specializes in cat hair.  I also got him some DVDs about learning sign language (something we’ve wanted to do together for a very long time) as well as a baby sign language DVD and a funny parenting book.

On the actual birthday we went to the West Side and played air hockey with our friends and came back here to watch Olympics together.  A very fun day indeed!

Jenna: Renovation Update

August 26th, 2008 · No Comments

First of all, this is Jenna! Greg has added me as an administrator to his website so that I can post here, too.  That way, there will be more frequent update, because Greg is lazy.

Second, there are no renovation finale pictures up yet because… well, the renovations aren’t final!  We still have one pesky medicine cabinet to add to our new bathroom, as well as plenty of other finishing touches to complete to the nursery, stairway, and master bedroom.  After a lot of hard work, I encouraged Greg to take August easy.  Hopefully in September our batteries will be recharged and we can tie up some loose ends and post our pictures here.

Bathroom Refinished

July 22nd, 2008 · 4 Comments

Step 1 of a vermillion in home renovations for little acorn is complete. We had Bathmasters come out and refinish the bathtub and ceramic tile in the downstairs bathroom. We had previously tried to paint the tile, which was an epic fail, but this is looking very promising. Gallery here, will update when the rest of the bathroom (flooring, paint, fixtures) is complete. Next big outsourced project is carpet in a few weeks, most of the other planned items are DIY.

Been a Long Time

This shouldn’t really be a surprise to anyone unless I haven’t talked to you in the past month, but:

Hooray! Jenna and I are really excited about little acorn coming, and are spending a lot of our time preparing the house. Turns out there is a lot of work associated with these things. Who knew?
Anyways, we are going to have another ultrasound on the 15th, and we should be able to find out the sex then.

My delay in posting was due to laziness (per usual) and waiting until people could tell just by running into us on the street. So now, I should be able to post more for all 3-5 of you. I especially want to do before and after pictures of renovations, as there will be many.
