First Tooth!

April 27th, 2009 · 1 Comment

This past week Lloyd has been very sick.  He caught a cold from me and had a stuffy, runny nose, a cough, and teary eyes.  He was also tugging on his ears a lot.  The ear issue was confusing because he was tugging on them before he showed any other symptoms of his cold… so I didn’t really think he had an ear infection, but we took him to the doctor anyway.  He had some fluid in his ears, but no infection.  He’s also been a spazz about nursing.  He’s been latching on incredibly frequently (even for him) but not staying on for long at all.

Then this weekend he brought my fingers into his mouth and I felt something sharp.  And there it was!  The point of his bottom, front, right tooth had broken through the surface!  This explains the nursing and ear issues, beyond his cold symptoms.   But yay for Lloyd for multi-tasking!  He got all the suffering of a cold and of teething the first tooth done in the same week!

Happy Easter!

April 18th, 2009 · 1 Comment

We had a fantastic Easter Sunday.  We spent the morning with the Crawford Grandparents, and headed over to the Brand Grandparents.  It was a super special Easter because Alison and Brent came into town from Pittsburgh!  It was great to see them and have Lloyd spend some special bonding time with his Aunt.

Here’s a picture Grace and Jerry took one day while babysitting Lloyd in preparation for the holiday.  More pictures from the weekend after the jump.

Hanging around

Pulled out the Moby sling the other day and it works great!  Lloyd loves being carried like this, and I love having two free hands. The Moby sling it just a very long scarf, essentially, that you wrap around yourself and the baby in various ways. Super cool. I wish I would have just made one instead of buying this, but it wasn’t that expensive and the instruction booklet was necessary.
