Jenna: Happy Halloween!

November 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

Happy Halloween, everybody!

Greg and I had a vermillion trick-or-treaters, and surprised them all with our own costumes.  I made myself a pumpkin hoodie and Greg a monkey one.   In our annual Halloween fashion, we dressed the cats up, too! This year they were chickens… or maybe roosters.  I called them chicken heads.

Jenna: Logan Turned Two!

October 31st, 2008 · No Comments

This past weekend was very exciting, as Greg and I attended my sister’s wedding (post and pictures to come) and last Sunday was Logan’s birthday.

He had an awesome party at the Xtreme Bounce Zone in Dexter.  This place is terrific, and is going to be a big part of my life once little Acorn is out and ready to jump.

None of our pictures of the birthday boy came out, as my camera was not quick enough.  As to be expected, he was in a constant state of running and bouncing.

Here, although, is a picture of a big pregnant lady on an inflatable slide:

Jenna: Baby Shower

October 28th, 2008 · No Comments

Greg and I (and the little acorn) were thrown an amazing baby shower at the end of September.  The decorations were adorable, the games were simple and nice, and the guests were all lovely!

We’d love to thank everyone for coming, especially our sisters Caitlin and Alison for traveling such long distances!  Also, the shower would not have been possible without the help of Sharon, Grace, Aunt Cheryl, Jean, and Erin – so many thanks to each of you!

We got an insane amount of generous gifts.  We were especially thankful for all of the beautiful hand-made quilts!  We know how much time and effort those would have taken to make, and that really means a lot to us.  Also, Grace found Greg’s handmade baby blanket and my mom found the baby blanket her grandmother had made for baby Sharon, so we are super thankful to have those wonderful keepsakes in our collection, too!

The pictures from the special day are here!

Jenna: Things Made of Wood

October 17th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I will do a post about the amazing baby shower we had in the near future, but for now I want to show some pictures of the really beautiful gifts from my dad.   He made us gorgeous acorn bookends and an incredible rocker for the nursery.  My mom did the weaving on the rocker, and it is the prototype for a furniture piece soon to be available for purchase from the Crawford Woodlands (once my dad officially starts the sawmill).   They are both such beautiful treasures, and we are lucky to also have adirondack chairs and a bench made by my father at our house, too.
