So I didn’t get a chance to write a blog post detailing all the Lloyd goodness at his five month birthday. Let me give you an update with Lloyd’s latest achievements…
Lloyd has TWO teeth! His bottom front teeth are through the surface! He has drawn blood from Greg twice, but has not caused me any grief while nursing (thank goodness!).
Lloyd can roll over all the way and travels quite a bit. He rolls all around the living room (when he’s in the mood: Greg’s only witnessed a couple of complete rolls). Moreover, he can pivot on his bellybutton axis and will turn himself all around to play with his toys. He doesn’t crawl, but he can scoot backwards. I’ve witnessed him back up a good four feet! We’re planning on investing in a baby cage (aka play pen) soon enough and we really need to get our rears in gear and baby-proof this joint.
Lloyd eats “rice cereal” now, which is more like gruel. We thought this was going to be a big to-do, but Lloyd ate his whole bowl like a pro on the first try. Unfortunately, his digestive track is not used to eating “solids” and he often gets very constipated. Two times he’s gone about 40 hours with no progress and then KABLAMO! Fun fun fun! We’ll see about introducing other foods after his six-month check-up. Luckily our grocery store has a vast selection of great organic options, so I’m not too worried about breaking out the food processor and starting my own factory.
He continues to be an amazing guy with tons of personality, brains, and brawn. We are happy and thankful.
