Lloyd is super mobile, crawling incredibly fast and pulling himself up to stand on anything in reach. He cruises all around the furniture, sometimes almost running! Will he be walking before the New Year? We’re thinking it’s a definite possibility. He loves experimenting with standing all on his own and keeps looking like he’s going to take a step. He also loves climbing the stairs and can make it to the top super fast!
His speech and language understanding has been a big development. He still really only says “Mama,” “Dada,” and “Kitty,” but he has a lot of other words that we understand, even though they are in Lloyd-Language. He definitely has his own word for no – “BAH!” and he signs for food, and for help when he drops a toy on the floor that he wants us to grab for him. If I say, “Lloyd, can you point to the light?” or “Point to my bellybutton!” he will, because he’s a genius.
For a while he was yodeling. He would say a phrase something like “Lo-de-lo-de-loo” over and over again and it was adorable.
He loves to dance and sing along to music, which is incredibly cute. He’s also started to get a kick out of making Greg and me laugh by blowing raspberries on our bellies.
Lloyd has had a rough couple weeks cutting teeth, and just this week his seventh tooth finally broke through! He’s a seven-toothed guy now.
When we go out to dinner, we’ve started ordering him food. We get him toast and pickles, but we’re thinking steamed vegetables might be a hit, too. He is also extremely interested in whatever we are eating. We let Lloyd sample from our plates, unless I am eating junk-food. Then I have to shame eat while Lloyd isn’t looking.
He’s such a big guy… and he’s already almost a YEAR OLD!
