Lloyd is just about two months old now and he’s doing great. He had a check-up yesterday and we found out he’s in the 100 percentile for weight, 99th for height, and 92nd for head circumference. The doctor was so impressed with Lloyd’s appetite and Mommy’s production and attentiveness. His mental development is fantastic, as well. The doctor was very pleased with how his eyes were tracking what’s happening around him. He moves all of his limbs at the same time, and is incredibly chatty spouting out tons of giggles and coos.
When you take Lloyd’s hands when he’s lying down, he will pull himself up into a sitting position. Sometimes he’ll go from sitting to standing, with very little help from us!
He also blows spit-bubbles now, which, believe it or not, is a pretty advanced skill for someone his age!
He’s also gotten so much better at sleeping. He’ll stay in his bassinet much longer than he used to. About four nights a week he’ll be in it for the vast majority of the night. He also only wakes up to be fed once before I have to get up for work, and sometimes he can go the whole night!
Last week we had to go to the hospital to have Lloyd’s hip checked. At his two-week old check-up it was clicky (a common newborn problem). But an ultrasound showed that everything is perfect (no surprise to us considering how much weight he puts on his legs).
Now this week we have to go to the hospital again to check a fluid build-up on Lloyd’s left brow. It’s a little bump that’s been around for a while, doesn’t seem to hurt him, and isn’t red or anything. The doctor said it will probably go away on its own, but we have to check to see if maybe it’d be better to drain it. She also said that no matter if it has to be drained or not, this is nothing to worry about. So we’ll keep you posted on how that goes…
Next-up developmentally should be rolling and consistently batting at toys!
