Lloyd is now 10 weeks old. It blows my mind thinking about how much he has changed even in just the past two weeks. He is much more willing to hang out by himself on the floor or in his crib. He has a floor-pad that dangles toys over him that he is willing to chill-out on. He bats at the toys every once in a while, and I think he’s getting into it.
He is days away from being able to roll over. He gets SO CLOSE I’m sure it will happen the first time he tries the next time I leave him with his grandparents or with Courtney (my brother in-law Matt’s girlfriend Erica’s younger sister and my new afternoon helper on Tuesday and Fridays).
He is also incredibly close to being able to hold his head up and sit in his bumpo seat. He can hold his head up just fine when sitting in my lap, but as soon as I put him down to sit on his own he looks at me like “What the heck? I’m not ready for this” and rests his head on his chest.
He has, however, regressed when it comes to night-time sleeping. For three days in a row he would not sleep for more than two hours at a time, and was not having the bassinet anymore. We have weaned him back onto the bassinet, but he has been waking up two or three times between 9pm and 4am.
Cyst update: the ultrasound proved it was just a cyst. It is completely encapsulated (a floating water balloon) and completely fluid. The next step is to just continue to monitor it to make sure it doesn’t grow, but even that is just for cosmetic reasons. We’ll have the pediatrician look at it again in April and we’re meeting with the Mott’s Plastic Surgeon to discuss draining it in June. However, as he continues to grow, I’m sure this little bump (less than a centimeter in diameter) will appear even less noticeable.
