Lloyd is now officially 3-months old! He’s still growing at a speedy rate, now weighing about 17 lbs, 14 oz.
Here’s a picture of him playing with “Ring Rat,” a new favorite.
Read on for tons of information about what Lloyd’s up to.
Lloyd is sucking on his hands a lot more now, although he still hasn’t found his thumb. He bats at toys with greater accuracy and determination. He loves to play rough, and having me bat at his hands rapidly is one of his favorite things. We also do a lot of “Stand Up, Sit down, Stand Up,” which is a great arm exercise for me and a barrel-of-laughs for him. We’ve been working on anticipation, meaning that before I do something exciting, I’ll get really quiet and then say something like “ready? ready? one… two… THREE!!” While I’m telling him to get ready he looks very serious, and will shout at me to hurry-up.
He shouts and hoots and coos a lot. He gives out these little rebel-yells sometimes that are hilarious. He also flat-out belly laughs when we do silly things.
People talk sometimes about parent-driven or baby-driven schedules. We totally let Lloyd call the shots. When he’s sleepy, he naps. When he’s hungry, I feed him. When he cries, I comfort him immediately. When he’s active, we play and do tummy-time. When he’s calm, we read stories or try different sensory experiences. I’ll have him smell different things like potpourri, and I’ve touched a variety of foods to his tongue for sampling. Ice cream was the biggest hit.
Sleeping is going very well! Last week he slept from 10pm to about 4:30am in his bassinet everynight, and after a feeding, would crash again until 6:30. Can’t expect any better than that!
We’re all very much in love and having tons of fun!

He’s getting HUGE. Definitely time for a trip to Pgh to see his aunt and uncle and cousins bob and chloe. 🙂
