Our bestest buds up-rooted from Ann Arbor and moved to Grand Rapids this summer… SAD TIMES! So on Saturday we went and spent the day with the Dwyers. It went really well.
More pictures and details of the trip after the jump!
We left early in the morning during Lloyd’s biggest nap-time and he slept the entire 2 hours there.
Once we arrived Lloyd was happy to play on the floor and stretch-out while the adults chit-chatted. Then we headed to “The Electric Cheetah,” which ended up being a restaurant and not a strip-joint or ’70s dance-club. We then went and saw the Dwyer’s new house that they will move into later this summer, and we walked around that neighborhood so Lloyd could nap in his stroller.
We went back to their apartment and chilled out. When it was time for Lloyd to take a nap again, we went to go walking by the lake, and then to a local artisan market. Lloyd refused to nap because this had all been very exciting. We went back to their place, ordered pizza, chilled out from all the walking and sunshine, and eventually us Brands said goodbye and packed it in to go home. The ride back was pretty hard for Lloyd: he slept for about 45 minutes and cried for the remaining hour and fifteen minutes. However, considering that Lloyd had been pretty perfect the whole day and ride to Grand Rapids, we deemed that this trip was a huge success. It’s nice to know we can work out little day-trips, as long as our destination has plenty of places for Lloyd to be able to crawl around and quiet rooms where we can nurse.
