Who can believe that Lloyd is now nine months old? He’s such an old guy now, doing so many impressive, big-boy things. Read on for more insight into the goings-on of our Acorn.
Lloyd has been very busy developing a variety of skills. He can now sit-up from laying down, pull himself up to stand, wave, clap, and do high-fives. (HERE IS A VIDEO of him clapping on the day he learned how to do it). We are now working on patty-cake and “touch down!”
His babbling is ever increasing. We think that considering how he has been able to be taught clapping, waving, etc… he should be able to pick up on some sign language, too. We’re working on it.
We thought he was cutting two new teeth (in his 8-month update I referred to the arrival of teeth 7 and 8); however, those teeth never showed up. We don’t really know what the deal was. Perhaps a lot of work is being done under the surface of the gums. He does have two little white bumps behind some of his teeth that the doctor assured me were innocuous (they are called “Epstein’s pearls”) and not new teeth growing in a second row, like a shark, as I originally feared.
Lloyd continues to grow like the most aggressive of weeds. He is well above the 100th percentile for height, weight, and head circumference. For his height, he would be in the 95th percentile as a 16 month old, and for his weight, as a 14th month old. Ridiculous.
We are excited for the start of fall and all the new developmental progressions it will bring! Most importantly, we are happy to introduce Lloyd to the wonderful world of Michigan Football Fandom. Here are some pictures of him in a UofM sweatshirt on one of the recent colder days:
