Edit: Picture proof after the jump.
The school board had its official visit to the new Operation Center for the district, so I was on hand to turn it over and I wore my new suit. It has suspenders. I am one fancy mofo.
The operation center, as its name suggests, centralized the operations staff for the district. Now technology, transportation, buildings, grounds, and food services all share office space instead of being spread throughout the district. The building itself has a lot of storage space, a bus garage with space for five buses, three bus lifts, a truck lift, and a bus wash facility. There is also a large training room upstairs, as well as a dedicated technology area with their own storage room. There is also a nice bus driver lounge and office space for the staff.
The building is nowhere near as pretty as East High School but it is extremely functional, and I think the district will save a lot of money and time because of it. I’m proud of the building because it was kind of my baby up until June or so, when we had to focus on getting East open.
You can’t see them, but the suspenders are there.
